Just returned from Del Rio - have only a few recommendations - First GO! And when you go - stay at the Angler's Inn. Carl and Dianne know how to treat fishermen. Had a great trip!

Spent 3 days at Rough Canyon last week. Hope you did better than we did. We got skunked.
I agree with "GO". It's something to see.

I don't know about GuideStrike, but we put out trot lines and we trolled hellpet combs. We didn't even lose our bait on the trot line. Used live perch and srimp.

No secret - the buck bass are in the far backs of the canyons and coves. We caught 40-70 per day, nothing really big but it was great fun. The far back of Cow Canyon was holding a lot of fish. One of my pals caught 25 out of the top of a single tree top. Wacky worm, or very light texas rig, (no particular color) seemed to work the best. Fish were in as little as 2 feet. Find a cove with grass and brush mix and fish behind them. The bucks are cruising very shallow (we saw them in bunches of 8-12 at a time) and the sows are just a bit deeper but do not seem interested in hitting much right now. We found water temps up to 64 degrees. Bass Champs had bad weaqther Sat morning and 26 pounds won, 19 pounds got paid, and big bass was 8 or so. If they had the weather we did on Wed, Thurs, and Friday - that might have been doubled. Was fun - go see Carl and JC, they will treat you right. If you are going down soon - send me a PM for additional details. Be safe.
