I went yesterday evening for about an hour right before sunset with my son. Next time he is using a lightweight spinning combo. He was getting frustrated with backlashes, even though he usually can cast well with low profiles. We set up at an area with a few scattered down trees/limbs and a couple of deep areas, around 8 feet maybe. We threw everything but roadrunners and got nothing. The water was pretty clear and I saw nothing passing thru the shallow areas. One fellow 150' up creek from me caught one, but I think he was using minnows. None of the folks I talked to caught more than a few. I am gonna hit it before sun up in the next day or two and see what it looks like early.

I was out there this morning from 7-9; first at the gun range then at the bike trail. Didn't get a nibble and only saw one fish caught at the bike trail. Tried minnows, roadrunners, small ratteltraps, and roostertails. Hopefully after Tuesday, the weather will stay fairly warm and the bite will turn on.

Was out at the gun range about 9:30 and didn't get anything. Left there and headed down to Miller Rd. Was there for a couple of hours, work about 1/4 mile of bank and didn't catch or see anyone catch anything.

I fished with Tarpon a bunch last spring. I can attest that he is a fish catchin SOB. agreed ...fished with Tfly today at rowlett ...it was a SLOW day and he was the only one really catching anything ...didnt keep count but i bet he had half a limit which was more than everyone else around combined ...including me and my single fish
