Brrrrrr!!! forecast for galveston for 7am according to weather.com; 55 degrees, sunny, wind 8 mph out of the northeast. Actual weather; 55 degrees, overcast, wind 15 mph out of the east. My brother in law and I hit the south jetty around 7. Water color and clarity was perfect, I just knew we were going to slay 'em. Jason picked up the first fish, nice 38" bull that we released. I caught a 22" slot, and that was it for the morning. Two bites, two fish. We had to be back in Houston for my niece's softball game so we left around 9. Conditions were perfect, surprised we only managed two fish. Oh well, thats fishing...

True. Haven't been skunked in a long time although it almost happened last month but a 24" slot saved the morning at the last minute. I'm not sure what it is but the difference between at least one keeper fish and being skunked is HUGE.

skunked at mosquito island today... going to lake austin for the week... hoepfully catch something there besides a cold!

Nice catch, Fred. Those bulls sure do pull hard. I love catching big reds on light tackle. A nice Redfish will make you doubt that 12lb test in a hurry!

hopefully i wont run into a skunk next month since i only get to saltwater fish about two times a year since i live like 2hrs and 45 min away
