They typically run out of the high-end reels ($200+) kinda early and have tons of BPS's brand reels, so I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

In the past I have not had a problem getting what I wanted. Last year I stopped a BPS in Bossier was going to get an Ardent reel and they were out but I kept my receipt for the trade in and took it to Garland when I got back and got a reel.

I am looking to pick up a Revo and a Daiwa reel. So I should look to get there on the very first day. I used to live in Bossier and know they have a pretty good supply. But here in the Metroplex, demand is high and supply is low. Any other thoughts?

Call ahead to make sure they have the ones you're looking for to start with. I suspect they'll have plenty of Revos but dunno about the Daiwas.

Also, get there as early as you can on the first day and go straight to the reels on the display outside. Two years ago (or was it three) I was lucky enough to pick up several of the Japanese Daiwa Millionaires (retail $300+) for $45-50 each. There will be lots of stuff you won't want, but they put out some really good stuff too it you're early enough to snag it.

Fishin Dude I love the Ardents that is all I have now. I am going to be at Cabelas spring thing sat.and sun. and you can come out and playwith one. I will have a 4 bearing and a 10 bearing rigged up. They are the best casting reel I have ever had and they are very backlash forgiving.

After listening to Joe I broke down and bought a Ardent. After the reel is broken in-it is one of the smoothiest and best casting reels I own. The specs are so tight on it that it has to be used for a while(thus the break in period) Drag is super smooth--I caught my C&R record redfish on mine no problem. They have a high capacity spool for it now too!!

I've yet to hold one...how well do they palm? Don't get mad but they look a little clunky...sort of like a square brick.

Tell me more about this trade in thing. I've never heard of it, how does it work?

mhood--I thought the exact same thing--the look kinda square but palms really well. I had to do a mod on the side plate(I stretched out the spring to make it tighter)--I really like using it now that it is broken in.
