Might as well start a petition to open the King Ranch to public hunting.

K.D. stated that a couple of years ago. Squaw Creek is private property. Becareful what you ask for, because if you force one to open private lands, then you may be having uninvited guests on your own private land at some point. It only takes one good case law to open the doors to everyone's private property.

well if it is private land than they shouldnt use taxpayer money to make it so darn fishy. Thats a crock!! I thought that if TPW stocked a body of water, than it had to be open to the public. Condoning this is unAmerican and you should be Ashamed if you do.

TPW told our Club they stopped stocking it when TXU notified them of their decision not to reopen. My neighbor works for TXU and they have no intention to reopen citing safety reasons. I just wish I could have fised it once before it closed.

Citing safety reasons is right, the long lines caused by bass tournaments and the resultant traffic snarl made it just too much to bear by TXU. They wanted to stop the tourney's but the uproar closed the lake.

Oh trust me... I'm not condoning TXU's actions at all. And I strongly feel they should re-imburse the state for the cost of the stockings.

All I was saying, is becareful trying to force Squaw Creek to be re-opened. It could backfire and open every privately held land for public use.

I don't think this is Un-American at all. In fact, directly the opposite. If I owned a piece of land, I should have control over who has access to it.
