The wife and I were at BPS today buying her a new rod and she brought up an interesting question to me. Why are ther so many different rod actions...can someone answer this for me. have always used a medium heavy rod because that is what my father always used. help me please...

Now days there are rod actions for every possible application and then there are more actions for personal preference for every application!! Leads to a garage full of rods. You can still get by with a few actions that will work for most applications.

Because guys like myself think the need 1, 2 or 3 of each type then I just use my med-hvy fast action rods and throw the rest in the corner. Use what you are confident with.
