I purchased a Stayncharge system almost two years ago and had it installed on my Basscat. This is the best charging system on and off the water, by far. My storage facility does not have power so I just plug it in to my truck after fishing all day and it is charged when I get home and ready to go for the next time. I have fished all day in 40 mph winds and never ran low on juice. Well I bought a new truck and put the system on it, and had issues with drainage of my cranking battery on the boat and the truck. I called Jim Payne, the owner of Staynchage and he took care of it. He sat on the phone with me for three hours tonight, walking me through every troubleshooting possibility. He was going to take his wife to the casino but waited to get me squared away before he took off! I was amazed at his willingness to sit there with me and completey dumb down the process and make it as simple possible as he walked me through the issues. The issue had nothing to do with his system but he basically helped me re-wire my boat from 1000 miles away. This is by far the best customer service I have ever had from any product or service. Whether you are in the market for a new charging system or not, I strongly suggest you consider Jim's Stayncharge and Allcharge system for your boat and truck. It works great and is completely hassle free. You will not be disappointed but if for any reason you are, I bet Jim would take care of you.

Did you let HIM know what you think of his service? They appreciate that sort of thing.
I had a very good experience with a company once that was VERY surprising. I had a cheap Shakespeare reel break on me (it was an Excursion reel, just a different name on an Intrepid apparently). I called to see about getting another part for it, having bought the reel a few years back I was willing to pay for the part. I described it to them, and they asked for my name and address and sent it absolutely free of charge. I even stressed that I had had the reel for a few years and that it had been to hell and back numerous times, but the insisted on sending the part for free. Granted, it was a cheap part, but still, I was highly impressed. Believe I ordered an extra spool from 'em for the reel sometime later, and it was extremely cheap as well. I let 'em know that I was highly appreciative of their service.
No fish is too good for the grease.

I had Rocky Robinson with S-n-C also spend a significant amount of time with me as well. Its rare to see folks spend the amount of time just to make sure your questions are taken care of!

What was the reason it was draining the batteries?

I had a Pfluger "President" reel that was about 2 years old, accidentally I dropped it while I was cleaning the reel, a made small hairline crack on the housing. I called Customer Service at Pfluger, they instructed me send the reel with a $16.00 money order or check, they would repair the reel and send it back. Two weeks later a received a "brand new" president!

Not sure why it was draining the battery. I am sending the old unit back to Jim so he can evaluate it and he will let me know.

I explain to my employees all the time that a bad customer experience is an opportunity to learn about your weaknesses and it is an opportunity to go above and beyond. Delivering exceptional customer service in the face of adversity is an art. Master it, pre-empt it, cut it off at the pass is the easiest thing to do. Leave your ego at the door and do what is right. Not only do what is right, do what your mama would think is right....It's simple and works about 99% of the time.
