hit the CBSP this saturday. Saw a few whites caught but nothing to speak of. Did hear from a bud that a friend of his caught a limit of mostly males with one or two females in the mix. I fished where the swimming hole creek dumps into the river down from the boat ramp. Apparently the other guys was fishing up from the shack where the river splits around a small island/gravel bar. He caught his fish just off the point. Only one white caught the whole day near the creek at the end of the trail past the boat ramp. There are already tons of boats roaring up and down the river. watched the boat guys all day and didnt see one of them catch a fish. Reminded me of the scene from jaws when all of them were out there acting like idiots trying to catch the shark. Pretty funny and chaotic. Good luck-like everyone else said-rain and it is on.

trenthuntin-didnt take the yak this time because it is a bit early and i am lazy. LOL I just walked the bank a bit. Also hit sulpher springs for a few hours and didnt get anything there-scenery was nice and picked up two arrowheads just walking down the road. So, not a complete wasted trip.

how was the water level around the island? I'm going down on March 3rd. Also, any camp fires?
And to think...all the fish I had to catch, to get where I am today...

No camp fires right now. the island is out of the water pretty well. We were there Sunday morning and only caught 4. There was an old man on a rock about 1/4 mile up river that had about 12-15 on a stringer. I also saw several others catch a few. They were all males to my knowledge. I may be going back this Sunday to see if I can get a few more to bite.

yellowcat where on the smith are you going? The water was at a decent level, no rapids by the wall at the park if that tells you how high/low.
