Went to the lake this morning (2-08-08). Man did it get windy. I was soaked to the bone by the time I got back to the ramp. Even with the wind a whipping I caught 14 fish. Had 10 keepers. 3 of the other 4 I threw back were about 10 and 1/16th inches so they went back for the future catch. Of course the other was a whopping 4 inches maybe. Looking forward to fishing with you B. Dee. Fish were caught on bpiles in 20' of water right off the bottom on jigum jigs and minners.

Matthew, got the jigs today. I'll put them to good use tomorrow afternoon when I get done being all I can be. Thanks again. I'm sure they will assist me in outfishing DBwoman. SHHH! don't tell her I said that. I will be ordering a few of them later after the fishing tomorrow. banana

Here's the pic.

When those waves get to rollling on Granger, it sure gets exciting. Nice catch today, hope to light them up tomorrow myself.

That lake can get very rough for a small lake. The wind doesnt seem to get blocked off by anything.

Is anyone catching them up in Willis Creek yet? Wanting to take a couple neighborhood kids fishing but their mama's are nervous about boats. Wanting to take them in the evening with a couple lanterns and minners and get them hooked, but have not heard if the crappie are moving in yet. Any reports?

The game warden told me they were catching alot of fish on the Fox park pier yesterday. I don't doubt it a bit. The misses and I caught about 20 fish with 13 nice keepers in about an hour of fishing on a brushpile. They were hitting anything we threw @ them. woot

Cool Big Zee. Glad you found the fish. I bet your daughter was smiling from ear to ear and I'm sure proud papa was smiling as well. Please post pics if you have any. Like to see those big crappie pics. Gets the heart pumpin'.

Keep on fishing.

Water temp was 55.0 to 55.3 degrees today 2-11-08. The fluctuation is confusing the hell out of the fish and me too i.e. caught fish shallow and deep. Hopefully the weather pattern will stabilize over the next couple of weeks and start the spawn. Females are busting @ the gills with eggs. The males are frisky. Gettin' close.
My backseater today caught a keeper male today with me in about 8 foot of water. The fish are starting to move into shallower water. We did manage about 8 fish with the wind and weird weather. We caught several keepers. All fish released to fatten up and release their female/male reproduction tools.

Keep on fishing.
