In Terrell on 80 as you're traveling east, at the last stop light on the right is El Girasol located in the old Dairy Queen building. They have a Tex-Mex and original Mexican menu. The food is outstanding with prices to match. Wife and I try to get over there every Friday evening. Does it make you long for a simpler time?
Another reason I enjoy sunnies, they're pretty

Thanks guys for your kind words, maybe down the road we can reopen. We have a building on Hwy 19 south in Emory, we have thought about fixing it up and opening over there, it belongs to us so we wouldn't have a landlord problem, but it would probally be a while and we probally wouldn't open back up under Tameraria's. If we do I'll sure give u a update, we would have to reapply for our liquor licence because it's in another county. Thanks again for your kind words.

To bad you said in Texas, but I'm going to go with my favorite place anywhere, Superior Bar and Grill in Shreveport (it's like 45 minutes from my house in Texas and we go a lot) Amazing food.

I give a lot of weight on salsa and service. Here is my top 4. Couldn't think of a 5, bunch of ties there.
1.) Tachitos on Illinois in south Dallas. Haven't been there in the last year, but I've eaten there a hundred times over the last couple of decades and have never had bad service and their hot sauce is the best.
2.) Ochoa's in Malokoff on the south end of Cedar Creek Lake. They are expanding so I hope that doesn't change them.
3.) Tubinamba's on Inwood just south of LBJ. Great service. You have chips and salsa in front of you within a minute of setting down. Don't go if you are a Longhorn fan.
4.) El Jacalito on the north end of Cedar Creek in 7pts. Best if you pronounce it the anglo way and don't try to say it in spanish.

It use to be Papacitas in Gun Barrel but that is no more. Now its jalapeno tree or something and not as good. Right now I like La Fiesta here in Waco.

Try Mexicali in Dallas on Northwest Hwy and Jupiter. Pretty good Tex-Mex at a good price.

Mi Cocina's on University is hands down best the all around Mexican restaurant in Fort Worth. It's a sister restaurant of the original in Dallas. The tacos de brisket are to die for. For a quick lunch the tortas at Melis Taqueria on Vickery are the best in the Messoplex. Place is a dive though. Picnic tables out front, no inside seating.
huh?

We recently ate at Mi Cocina for the first time at the Hulen & I-30 location. We all thought that it was so-so, although we did say that it was worth another try. The tacos de brisket that you speak of... Are they hard or soft tacos? If soft, what all is on them? Do they do the cilantro/onion type tacos or is it an Americanized taco with nasty stuff on them?

I like the little hot dog stands on the streets of Acuna Mexico. Goes great with a cerveza after a trip to boys town.

Tacos Habana at Mi Cocina is my favorite.
Chicken Breast marinated in Chili Adobo served in Corn Tortillas with Cilantro, Onion y Pica-Pica.

Taquitos on East Grand in Dallas. I still like El Fenix in downtown because I practically grew up on their enchilada dinners.
