American Eagle Rods makes 3 specific rods for crankbaits and rattle baits. They are composites which are very helpful in handling fish with those types of baits. There is a 6'6", a 7'0", and a 7'6". They are in their HP series rods. There will be two new swimbait rods premiering at the Classic. They are both 7'11" in to different actions. Give them a call at 866-435-8867. www.americaneaglerods.com

swimbait/ cranking rod.... Not the same rod at all. A cranking rod you want alot of forgiveness in the tip. I use a Falcon Composite cranking rod.
As far as swimbait I throw very few, and I use a rod with a lot of back, like a 6, or 7 power 7 ft Falcon.

I love my 2 new 7' Hendrix ML IM8's. The All Star's I used before that were OK,but NOT the best.

I have actually been loking for a rod to do the same and I have narrowed it down to the these two rods:
7' or 7'6" Duraflex Cranking-MH
http://www.castawayrods.com/Merchant2/me...;Category_Code=

7' Soft Touch-M
http://www.castawayrods.com/Merchant2/me...;Category_Code=

As of now I am leaning towards the Duraflex, but you could purchaese either and be happy with your choice.

I use the Michael Hendrix 7 ft 70M rod with my rattle traps, caught a few in my last tournament on Fairfield. Won the tournament. I love it.

If you are at fork go see Dave across the parking lot from Oakridge. He make the Custom Angle Moby Bass series rod. Got a castmaster from him last year and love it. Can throw a DD22 all day and will not wear out. That says a lot for a sixty year old.
