Has anyone used the green or the red Daiwa Steez poles? Don't have the model numbers on them but was thinking of getting my Dad a 6-2 med hvy for his birthday...That way it will match that little reel he loves so much...Any info would be great, me I stick to the G-Loomis

Have you seen how much they cost?

I handled an 8fter at the show that was lighter than should be allowed for an 8fter. But that rascal was like 599, or 699.

ouch

They're worth every penny. I have Heartland Z's ($400+ when new), the Steez predecessor and wouldn't take any amount for them.

I know they make a 6'3" and 6"7' in MH and the red is a 7' heavy.
My son uses the 7' and loves it. And it doesn't act like a broom for being a heavy action. Your money and his happiness will be well worth it.

Worth it! The cool thing is every steez rod they manufacture is a technique specific rod.

Nah...no need to upgrade when what I have works well. I'm not one who has to buy the lastest, most expensive just because.

Even though I absolutely love the Heartland Z's, I find myself reaching for "old reliable" most of the time.....a 6'6" Zell Rowland old-style Falcon I bought from a guy for $15.00 when he busted an eye. Just something about that rod.....comfortable, I guess.

I agree I would have a real hard time spending over a grand shocked for a rod & reel combo when what I have work's great.

However if offered I would not have a problem field testing a few. thumb
