OK, I don't want to sound like the curmudgeon that I really am but I'm going to ask anyway. Does anyone on this forum fish around San Antonio? If so, Where? I fish Calavaras & Braunig but I'm tried of catching bass.LOL Suggestions?

I haven't had much success fishing for the Reds. I've read the article in SFF and I might give it another go. I was hoping to find some info about the gills/crappie in Medina or maybe Boerne Lake. Someone had posted a link to Texas community lakes and there are a few that look interesting. Just hoping to cut down on fishing nonprodutive waters. Any suggestions for patterns that might work for the reds?

if you want to catch and release only go to salado creek off eisenhauer rd, right across from the flee market. live oak lake is another, earl scott pond.

Thanks for the link RangerR and thanks to Jeffnsa for the inside track on some local catch & release ponds. I'll check these out quickly. Any special rules or regs I would need to be aware of? Float tube accessible or from the shore only?

salado creek goes all through san antonio and can be very dirty, i would not recomend getting in it. earl scott pond is small enough for bank fishing. live oak lake is no boating ,wading, swimming. miller pond is on the south side and a good fishing spot from what i hear.
