I dont think they do ,,,,look at all the colors guys throw at them ...everyone uses something different ...What is bad is when the guy next to you has a color you dont have in your tackle box ...

I think it may boil down to if you trust it or not. It's kind of like if you have confidence in a lure you will fish with it longer and give it a better presentation because you think it will catch fish and thus it does.

Iborrowed one from buddy at boat shop took it to three lakes fork tawokoni hubbard
fork it said use whites
tawokoni said use chartruse/dark
hubbard white/red
funny thing was that I new that before spending 150 dollars

If you are talking about the round one that Dr.Loren Hill made, He is the head of the zoological dept at OU.Yes I have one and it works.It shows what color they see (best) at a givin time of day and water clarity and @ depht.Shows ph and temp as well.I dont know about the new ones from spikeit.

I've had one for years and had forgotten about it. Back when I used it, the color it selected didn't make me catch fish any better than my favorite worm or lure did. Back then I was a LMB fisherman. I have since seen the light.

welcome to the light joe,
as for the color selector its up to u ure going to get all kinds of opinions but ask any crappie fisherman what his goto colored jig is, and on the water any day he will catch more fish on that jig for the simple confidence that comes with it.
