I'm going to pay off the last thousand dollars I owe on credit cards. Then and only then will I have a balanced budget. The government could learn from me. Instead of spending more, we need to spend less and pay our debts.

Radtexan, I agree w/ you. However, what less they are taking from us this year will be a lot to come one way or the other, especially if the SOCIALIST LIBS ever take over. BTW, according to my view, John Mc Cain is just a LIB in disguise. It's amazing how the people who pay 90% of the tax won't get a dime, yet the ones who pay 10% or NOTHING will get a free ride, and guess what....they still betch about how unfair life is....
Life is a betch, please don't vote for one...

CV,
We need to hook up and fish again soon. Been too long and have some weekends off coming up. If you wanna try our slips, I'm sure Josh wouldn't care, since you've invited me to yours.
I work evenings through Thurs, been a long week.
Later...

Hmmmm I think I'll follow the teaching of Jesus to help me find out who speaks for me best. Help the poor not the rich, Live and let live, turn the other cheek, Love not fear and hate... That sounds like my type of leader open minded, smart, unlike someone I know....
Oh and a fisherman... Lets all be like Jesus and catch some fish...

Yeah...live and let live....for the love of God. 1st of all, I am NOT rich, and I am not poor. I am what so many considered as the MID middle class. But I don't understand where "Help the poor not the rich" makes sense...
If the rich steals, then he/she got rich by doing something evil & wrong. Lock he/she up for doing the illegals. However, if the rich is rich by hard working and smart working, and along the way he/she help others by giving them jobs, then why is he/she at fault? If we can't reward their success, then at least allow them to enjoy their success. Why penalize them for doing something to better themselves? Why not learn how they got to be so successful and apply to ourselves?
Assume we all pay 15% tax of our $$$, then I believe a 5th grader is capable of understanding that 15% of my $$$ if far less than 15% of that million air. I don't see anything wrong with that at all.
On the other hand, if I know someone who is working hard and still not making ends meet, then I would gladly help TEMPORARILY to get him/her out of a bind. I would do that because I care, not because I am OBLIGATED to help; there is a big difference. I just wonder how many people out there that are poor because they work hard or because they are simply LAZY expecting a hand-out. Sure, I want to fish every weekday, but I have to earn a living. By giving my hard earned $$$ away so that a socialist system would feed the poor PERMANENTLY is nothing less than robbing me to give to the lazy.
Let just say...One poor man who has been poor for a long time, but finally got a business going to better himself. Before long, he made it good. Better than good, he hits the jackpot by working hard and persistently smart and by taking advantage of our capitalist system. By then, he is no longer a good human? By then, he is viewed by a socialist as "EVIL"? and that he is obligated to help every poor person who is waiting for a hand-out?
Keep in mind, I came from a socialist/communist nation long ago. Well, it is still a socialist/communist nation. The gov. keep feeding the mind of the helpless by telling them that capitalist is evil. The gov. seized ALL from the rich and put them in jail. Some were flat out shot and killed. 38 yrs passed by, the people are still poor. The gov. got richer and richer. More powerful and more corrupted. The people became helpless and even 100 times more helpless than they were before. I've been thru all that. I've seen dead bodies due to hunger. I have never seen a starving hard working person in the USA yet!!!! If one can't make if the USA, one will never make it in CANADA, not let along a 3rd world country.
Now... when I see a rich person, I love to get a chance to know him/her. Why?...so I can learn to better myself. I don't get jealous or feel as if he/she is evil. I feel lucky to know successful people. It's contagious...
The same way I apply to fishing. When I get to know a legend (many are in this forum); I feel lucky to know and learn from such person to better my success on the water. And NO, he is NOT OBLIGATED to take me fishing if he doesn't want to.
Let's believe in the people who elected the gov. not believing in the gov. who controlled the people
