I was wondering if he was still there. Was he fishing with those big eagle claws?

They are still on Palestine. We saw one just about everytime we went hunting up near the mouth of Kickapoo this year. I also saw one on Lake Tyler diving at a coot that he had found. The eagle would dive and the coot on the water would disappear under. Happened quite a few times but did not get to see who won that battle.

I was fishing Palestine about 6 weeks ago and was drifting in on a flock of diving birds. Before I got close the birds scattered and a bald eagle dove right into the water where the birds had been, pulling out a nice sized white bass. Wish I had a video.

Eagles pretty much switch from fish to coots right now at Toledo Bend. At least that's what I've seen, this is my first year here.

Saw one on Pool last year in Feburary in the back of Split Creek, they are freaking HUGE! They frequent a few areas I fish on Texoma also, last weekend I saw one trying like heck to get a coot that was singles out of the flock. It was pretty entertaining, the coot kept diving under just in time to get away.

very cool

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
