yea i think that is pretty rude. we had almost the same thing happen to us. we were fishing and we were anchored up on one of our White Bass/Crappie holes (about 20 feet from a dock on a marina) we were catching a few fish. and a boat pulls up and ties up to the dock (about 25 feet from us) probably around 15' long (fiberglass) with about 7 guys on it. they droped their crappie lights in the water and started fishing. after that no one cought another fish within the next 45 minutes. so we pulled out and went home.
i run trotlines, etc. and usually have a 1 lb hunk of lead with me and if it happens again dad said we are going to throw it over by them and see what they do.

That Defenatly was rude! I always keep a pencil popper handy for just those such occasions. When it bounces off thier boat they tend to realize they are TOO close and In my casting spot.

It was definitely rude, but you did the right thing by picking up and moving.

Some one with that type of an attitude is a danger to themselves and those around him.

For those that suggested rocking his boat with some good waves or something, what if the guy got excited, turned his boat over and drowned.

Is ANY fish worth having that on your conscience, I do not think so.

Everyone that has fished for any length of time has had that happen to them.

Ethics and manners are things that can not be taught.

The guy in the boat, his whole family and probably all
of his social circle act that same way.

Probably get a kick out of bragging how he went out and caught some good fish when those poor dumb bank fishermen could not reach them.

Even though it went against your grain, and he was being rude, you did the best thing by going on about your business and not confronting the idjit. JMO.

Ignornance is bliss ( I can't even spell it ) a few unintentional casts real close to the boat and a few Oh I am sorry about that casts may do the trick. Some folks don't know what they are doing is wrong until you explain it to them.

I would have called the GW on this. There is no sense in crowding anyone or being rude but reckless endangerment of others should be dealt with accordingly. Hit 'em where it hurts the most, right in the checkbook
From some of the stories I have heard on here about creek fishing, I would be packin if I was gonna fish the creeks

It was rude of him and he had not exercise fishing etiquette...But as Crazy Horse said retaliaiton is not the answer. By making wakes you recklessly endanger the person's life. Actually I am aware of a pending case on someone who did this and was reported to the authorities. As for chucking a slab at some one, it is felony assault in Texas.

It wasn't me, I swear. I did see the bank fisherman when I came into the area to check the condo but when I saw where they were casting I moved away. I figure they only have that small area to fish while I have the whole lake.

Well, I can certainly appreciate that outlook Ernest and PoNey. If every one thought that way, the world would be so much better. The principle is the most important thing. If you have the principle of considerration, concern and respect down you can apply it in every facet of life. I will admit though that I have a new found zeal to get a boat now. I will say though that God truly blesses me as a bank fisherman to consistently catch fish wherever I go (regardless of the season) For this I am grateful. He truly prospers my way. That is just one of the many benefits of serving him.

I vote rude also. But still not worth getting into a confrontation over.

Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

I agree with Crazy Horse even though it's your instinct to throw a hand gernade their way. Just move on.
Recently, I was tied to a stump catching some nice crappie. A boat trolled by. I ask how the were doing and they had not caught a fish. So I told the what jig to use and how to use it.
BIG MISTAKE. They would not leave and were tied to that snag for
several days. One day, I was headed in that direction with no plans to fish that spot. They were about 300 yards from the snag when they saw me. Immediately, they jerked up their troll motor and away to the spot. I just idled by them.
They did not know how to find fish. But their kind, just finds fishermen and encroaches.
Leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, but do as Crazy Horse
suggest.

I think Most Fishing people have at least some respect, but there are a few that have none. They werent Raised right. Verry Rude

Rule #1 dont fish within casting distance of a another angler unless you are filling the same stringer..
