If so , please share your experience w/ me as this will be my first GPS / FINDER Combo. Any tips on set-up , mounting accessories , etc. would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought one & am having to wait 1 month for delivery.
I am experiencing a little anxiety about how much time it will take me to get installed / set-up / up & running / adjusted to the software / etc. etc.

JR---Was going to suggest you download the emulator from the Lowrance website but I couldn't find an emaulator for the LCX-38C. Not sure which would be the closest to it, perhaps the LCX-112 or LCX-27C. Not sure but here is website and figure one close will give you what you need to learn it before it gets to you. Might want to try emulator with a HD since yours will have one. Here is the site with all the emulators:

the 38c is awesome unit. i would probably ram mount it. setting your units, can be different for each boat. the normal is around. sentive around 78-82,ping speed 75, chart speed 100.

where did you buy your unit?

Hodges Marine... Online Store. I called Gander Mntn. but they don't have that particular unit in their system & I am saving $150 over buying from BPS. The catch is I'm waiting 3-4 weeks longer for delivery if I had purchased from BPS.

Hubbard is right smack dabb in between Waco , Corsicana , Hillsboro , & Mexia... 25-30 miles N,S,W,& or E to get to a Wal-Mart.
