Fished Cal. today. Water was 59 deg. The bite was slow but quality fish. plastics and spinnerbaits

Man that brings back memories, we use to hit Brauning this time of year in the reedbeds and just whack 5 to 8 lb fish flipping jigs!!!!

I remember back in the 80's- Calaveras was a HOT lake. It wasn't uncommon to catch 50-100 fish a day ! Bass up to 13 lbs were landed. Then came the Talapia introduction which ruined the Bass fishing.
It is nice to see good fish out of there again. Maybe I'll get up enough nerve and leave Choke a few days to try the old days again.
