for all the guys that fish creeks for crappie in the winter. how long do you stay at one spot without catching a crappie before moving on to the next one?

Speaking of creek fishing has anyone actually fished Denton Creek recently between Denton and is it, Keller off of Hwy 377?

I never stop moving unless I've found a honey hole.

I always keep moving. A few minutes at each spot without a bite and off to the next spot. If they are there and your presentation is correct, they will bite right away. Two or three casts and off I go, until, as Guy said, you find their honey hole. It is not unusual to fish a large area and only catch them in one small concentrated spot. However you may catch 20 or 30 or even more from that one spot.
That being said, I have also fished creeks when I have caught a few (one or 2 ) on any kind of structure you could find, but they always bite right away - don't get planted in one spot.

5 minutes without a bite and it is time to move to the next bush, laydown, creek bend, stump, drop off or whatever your creek offers. If the crappie is there they are usually quick to bite if your jig passed in front of its nose.

Move and move often, until the fish tell you to stop.

crappiejign,
Denton Creek is way high from past couple years,I would fish at least as far up as the 377 bridge. Caught some big male sandies 3 weeks ago and are a few isolated spots where Mr. Crappie are hanging out but no huge stringers that I have seen, But havent had the time to go lately.
