There's gonna be a Gander Mountain in Amarillo?
No fish is too good for the grease.

Yes there sure is. I grew up in Amarillo and am looking forward to going to this grand opening. I put the address above where it is to be located. Lots of fishing, hunting and camping in the Panhandle.

Bankrunner, Yes, It is not the same when your high school is gone is it? I miss driving down Polk Street, stopping at the Double Dip for an order of fries etc etc etc. Guess I am getting old, starting to look back on things. Did you take a look at my http://www.ladyangler.com site? It has a page with AHS. If you have any photos to share to put on it email them to me. Sorry, pitchin fool no Gander Mtn in San Antonio.

I've seen the construction on the HOuston location, across 290 from the new Academy at 1960 & 290. More Competition = More Affordable Stuff for Me

ladyonthelake... I know what you mean, when I am near Polk I always want to look over and see the old school sitting there. If I can find the negatives ( now I am dating myself, pre- digital days LOL ) I was a photographer for the La Airosa, and I had a ton of pictures of the old campus Will see if I can find them and pass them on :)Lots of fun memories.... I graduated in 73', my graduating class spent 3 years in the building after it was burned, a true loss. Txfisherman what part of Dallas are you in? Had some good friends that went to Tascosa... hehehe, even if they were a big rival.....

bankrunner, I live in Arlington now. I hope you find the negatives, would love to have some of the old photos of AHS. I didn't know anybody stayed in the building after it burned. What started the fire do you know? Talk was the old boiler. Those were good times, no cameras in the halls or stairs Is there any good fishing in Amarillo now? Have you used Kick'nBass fish attractants? I will bring some samples when I am at the openings.
