I am new to crappie fishing and i like to learn ray roberts. The only thing is that i dont know where to go to catch good amount of crappie. Please someone give me a secret on where to go.

You'd have to look real hard to find anyone that knew Ray Bob better than Cliff. He grew up there hunting the land before it was impounded. Also, he knows where the crappie are and one trip with Cliff will easily pay for itself in gas if you were to search around yourself. You won't be disappointed. If not a guide, get you a good lake map, and start with visible structure- bridges, standing timber, lay-down, and rip-rap to name a couple. Corp brushpiles are marked on most maps which will get in the right area. Hope that helps. brad

The better question would be where do you not find crappie on Roberts.

I would highly recommend Cliff Spindle. Even though I have bass fished all my life I couldn't figure out how to Crappie fish. We went with Cliff after one day of him sharing his knowledge I have caught a lot of Crappie since then on various lakes. You can call me a graduate of the Cliff Spindle school of Crappie fishing. Agree with you all. I thought I was a pretty good crappie fisherman until I went on a trip here @ Granger with Tommy Tidwell. I learned some tactics and techniques I woulda never dreamed of. Get a guide @ least once.

Cliff has his Doctorate of Crappieology and teachs other his methods of "Catching" not fishing. I know my brother and I have put lots of crappie in the frig since we went out with him. Worth the money.

Spend some time fishing the trees and bridges and looking for corps brush piles. Get frustrated then take a trip with Cliff. For some reason those places start producing.

if u want some crappie go to buck creek and troll to the railroad bridge second colums tie up or use ur trolling motor to position and drop dpwn to 2 or 3 cranks off the bottom they have been hitting there for the last couple of week the the trees arounf the coner in 24 to 30 ft, start at 15 ft and work ur way down....good luck
