this is the first year for me to fish this place. How long does the trout fishing usually last out there? I figure it probably isn't too long with all the catfish out there plus the warm weather.

OSD...if memory serves me right trout can handle water temps up to 80 degrees then it's pretty much over for them. I was fortunate enough to get into them a few weeks back and caught 4...one being about 15" and I would estimate 2 lbs.

Fun to catch...you know as soon as you have one on because the fight is completely different.

Don't know if I will go back to LLELA anytime soon. Too darned crowded for my taste and I've only gone on a couple of Fridays with Rudy Cortinas. I can imagine what it's like on weekends...

If you go out there post the results...

we do- right behind the canyon dam

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Was it still pretty crowded with people fishing for trout?

If you would take the brass poles out of the river, I'm sure they would leave on their own.

Nah, not a ban. Just a $5.00 tax on the club. Lol. grin
