Spent most of the morning fishing for Blacks up river of the 99 bridge. I manged to get 4 in the boat, the biggest was 4 1/2 lbs. I broke one off that must have been a montser. It just snapped that 30 lb power pro line. I had one straighten a hook and just flat out didn't get the hook set on two more nice fish that I saw. Kinda of rusty on the "hook set" since I haven't fished since September.
We trolled a little after lunch up in San Miguel creek and my brother caught 4 nice whites on a shad colored "Shad Rap".
Water temps were in the low 60's most every where.
It was a great day on the water. Saw a ton of birds and had three Bobcats within 20 yards of us.
I am ready to go back next week!!!!!!!
Good luck!

Were the birds in the water or on the trees? Also what type were they?
On another note, did you see anyone fishing and/or catching white bass from the bank?

No bank fisherman.
Heck, I saw about 500 different species of birds. Everything from a Green Kingfisher to an Osprey. Only saw a few "roosting" buzzards if that is what you wanted to know. I did not see any large groups of Comerants like I used to in the past.
