Had my grandson (10) and grandaughter (13.5)with us this past week at our lake place. The weather kept us from launching the big boat so we decided to fish our cove (out of the wind)with the jon boat. We set out 5 jugs baited with shrimp. The deep ones (>17 ft.) did not even loose a bait. The shallow ones (<10 ft.) did all the good. Caught 4 nice Blues. Each one was almost a twin of the others. Guess they were just under 5 lbs. each. Caught nothing during the day. All were caught during the nite.
Must commend the kids, they put on all of the baits and pulled in the lines. Their little fingers were froze. Frankly, I was surprised we caught anything. We did have one jug line drug out almost to the middle of the lake and with the wind being so bad we did not try to retrieve it. I hope what ever took it out got loose. Will get it next weekend if weather permits.
Happy New Year,
Capt. Rick
