I am a newbie here on the forum and have only posted a few times. Been lurking alot to learn. I wanted to see if there is a chance to help my son with something that would make his day, week, month and most likely life.
David is now 18 a senior in high school and was dignosed with an illness called Wegener's a little over 16 months ago. It is a very rare illness and even more rare in a kid his age. He missed most of his last year of school from being so sick but has rebounded this year and got straight A's on his last report card. He has had 6 surgeries in the last 16 months and is currently in the hospital from another one. His other sports that he was into are no longer available to him because of his illness. Fishing is now his fulltime thing. He can sit for hours playing wtih the stuff in the tacklebox. Sorting and organizing getting ready for the next fishign trip.
What I was wonering is, if anyone knows how to go about getting him in the back of the boat with one of the pros either on a prefishing day or co-angler day. He is a pretty good fisherman and truly a great kid. I am a little biased here but if you have the chance to meet him I am sure that you will agree.
If anyone has information on how to fulfill his wish I would be very greatful for the information. I am not asking for handouts just information that might allow him the opportunity to fish with one of his idols.
Most of you have kids and understand my desire to help him with his wish.
Thanks in advance for any information.
Best Regards.......and tight lines to you all.......

Well I am sure, that if you cant get one of those guys to take him out, I am sure there would be more then one of us on here, willing to take him out for the day, it wouldnt be one his idols, but we could make sure it was a great day, and maybe able to get him into a tournament or two.
Where are you located???
God Bless you and your family....

Just saw the post for elite series co-angler. We are going to try and get him in on that.
David is now out of the hospital. they determined his infection in his lungs made it to his bloodstream so they are treating him for that and will retest in 10 day. Another blessing that it was caught early.
thanks again for your assistance.
Kindest Regards

You can always check with the local boat dealers to see if they can contact a pro for you. All of the pro's have to be assigned to a dealer for their brand of boat. I bet you could find some to help out. Clark Wendlent is in your area and he is one heck of a good Christian angler. See if a Ranger dealer in the area could shoot an email to him for you.
