quack---Think you may be thinking of Reel Magic. Below is from the Line & Lure website:
"Line & Lure was developed strictly as a fishing line conditioner. Line & Lure is a special polymer blend that becomes part of the fishing line it is applied to. Other line treatments you find on the market are primarily silicone oil and solvents. Silicone oil only temporarily coats the line and solvents can damage line. Silicone oil rapidly comes off the line (on your hands and in the water), requiring re-treatment of the line after just a few casts."

IMHO KVD is the only product that actually does what it says it does. About 2 years ago Fox 4 did a Deal or Dud test on it and after their test they said it was a dud. What they failed to realize is that water activates it. they did all of their casting on dry land and never let the line touch water. I immediately sent an email to the reporter who did this test, and he got back with me about 2 weeks later and said he had been flooded with emails and calls with the same info. Whenever I spool new line on my reels, I will take a soft rag and soak it real good in it and let the line go through the towel before going on my reel. After that, if you spray it on before you stow your rod n reel at the end of the day, you will maintain it on your line at all times and you will never have to worry about line problems again. This method also woorks on braided line too. And if you use fluoro almost extensively like I do, you will be amazed how well it works on it.
