Going to Cabo in May for the honey moon. Bride wants to go marlin fishing. Is is better to book something now or wait and thy to book off of the docks? Any charters/guide advice? What would be a average deal for a 6 or so hr trip for two?

Thanks in advance.....Joey,

Been a while since I've been down there but the old addage holds true anywhere in Mexico. "GET A RECCOMENDATION". Lot of offers through the hotels etc are nothing more the the dreaded "Mexican boat ride". Take ya out for a spin with no intention of any serious fishing. If you can't get a recent reccomendation, I would line up a charter through one of the bigger outfits with websites. (Pisces, Seacraft etc...) Those guys have reputations that they want to keep.

Capt Daniel on the dream maker has always given us an Awesome trip. He is one of the few captains I would say still loves to go fishing. He gets so mad we lose a fish due to someone screwing up...

Book the trip now to be safe.

I highly recommend the outfit noted above. Started by Jim Dillon, a U.S. guy, years ago. We used them (including my wife and two teenagers) and had a ball. Make time for golf too - great courses down there.
