and DTA musta got some new duds from Santa. Very chic winter fishing wear there, Don!
Quite the fashion plate.
Rudy Shoulda been there when we started out that morning. Don was sitting on the live well and got hooked on the pants leg by a slab that came free from its mooring on the reel. Don was trying to get it free when the fly that was tied above the slab hooked his "Christmas" "sock" hat. We started laughing, (just a little friendly laugh)  at him and tried to help him but had little success. HE WAS HOOKED IN THE PANTS WITH THE SLAB AND THAT "FASHION PLATE HAT" WAS HOOKED WITH THE FLY. I thought it was real funny, that line set up had him "immobilized", Joe and I were both laughing, then he started cutting the hooks off the slab - (I thought it was Joe's slab). I even told him just to bend down the barbs cause we weren't going to be using them anyway. Then I realized it was my rod he was cutting the hooks off of. It wasn't near as funny - had to put on a new treble hook set up on my slab before I could fish. Imagine that - a guy cutting the hooks off your slab when you're not looking - good thing I caught it before I started fishing  We coulda called that little clip "THE THREE STOOGES GO FISHING"

Go ahead and make fun of dta. I have thick skin! The world needs more humor.
Rudy, it was too cold to fish one day in about 1980. A friend and I drove down to Cleburne to the Walls Outlet Store.
That is how old the blue insulated suit is I was wearing Sunday. It has been an excellent winter garment. Never been cold with it on.

JUST TOO FUNNY!!!!!!! I HAVE THIS MENTAL "VISUAL" OF A CONFINED AND CONSTRAINED DTA, HOOKS AND LINE JUST IMMOBILIZING HIM, THE OTHER TWO PARTNERS IN CRIME CRACKING UP, AND ONE OF EM WITH NO CLUE THAT THE GEAR THAT'S ABOUT TO GET MANGLED IS NOT DTA'S!!!
The looks on at least two faces, DTA's when he got tangled up, and Papa's when he realized HIS gear was being dismatled, had to be priceless, to say the least!!
you guys thinking about taking this show on the road?
