Ok, I'll ask. What is 'dead sticking'

When the water temps get in the forties, the fish get sluggish as do the shad. Drop your slab or swim-bait to the desired depth and impart no action on it (hold it still). Bite is usually very light, like a crappie. I like to lift it up and down occasionally because sometimes a fish has bit but you can't feel it.

Don't cry Fly, went back out the morning and nothing. Only fished a couple of hours though.

if you can get a refridgawear suit those work a lot better than anything in the stores. i got mine from work and it keeps me warm in the -19 degree freezer at blue bell
