I want to hear opinions on what brands of monofilament, fluorocarbon and copolymer Fishing lines are best for spinning reels

I have tried Vanish 12lb Fluorocarbon and it kinks up/twist up too much.(Works well for leaders on carolina rigs although).

I have tried Stren 12lb Mono and it has a bunch of memory and isn't very abrasion resistant. Trilene XL cast well but isn't very abrasion resistant.

I like to skip soft plastics under docks/boathouses with my spinning rod, so I need a line that doesn't twist up that is abrasion resistant. (The first thing a bass will do under a dock is wrap around a pole)., The Trilene 12-14lb XL will usually break when this happens with a fish over 5lbs. What do you guys recommend??

If you have not tried it I HIGHLY reccommend a quality 14-15lb braid with a 6-10lb fluoro leader of at least a few feet. It is MUCH more manageable than straight fluoro. I was skeptical till I tried it. I have really liked the Daiwa Samurai braid as well.
When I am really scaling down or fishing deep I will use a 6-8lb quality fluoro like Sunline Sniper FC.
I have no use for copolymer or mono on a spinning rig.

I second that, but if you want all flouro I would suggets berkley 100% flourocarbon in the 10-14 lb test if you are skipping docks. 8-10 if you are not.

10 lb braid has a diamater of a little under 2 lb. test, this means thaht you can cast a ridiculously long way(which probably doesn't matter if you are only skipping docks). Braid is very abrasion resistant for getting those big ones out from underneath those docks.

I had thought about that, but I figure it is going to be too difficult trying to skip under docks with a long leader hanging off the end of the rod.

The leader is part of the line. It does not "hang" off the end anymore than the mainline would. It does not affect my casting ability at all.

How long of a leader are you using? Are you reeling the barrel swivel into the rod guides?

I don't use a barrel swivel. I use a double-uni knot and in 2 years of using it extensively I have yet to have a knot failure. Normally I use a 2-3ft leader.

Try the braid and use the dbl uni. I was very skeptical at first, but have become a believer. If you properly tie the knot the leader becomes a part of the line so you don't have to leave it hanging.

There are several knots you can use to join lines I use the blood knot or the dbl uni.

I do this same thing and it works well.

The new Trilene fluoro is the best out IMHO...it's as soft as FC Sniper with much better abrasion resistance. I use 8lb on my spinning reel for jerkbaits, shakey heads, and general finesse baits.
