Hi guys. I don't have a fancy fishing boat. It is a wide bottom 14 foot jon boat that I have built casting decks in and added nice seats, a bow mounted foot controlled trolling motor and other accesories to make it into a decent fishing boat.

I have an Eagle Cuda fish finder that I have the transducer mounted at the back of the boat and the display up front so I can see it while cruising or trolling. My sweet wife gave me a new Eagle 320 for christmas. Would you mount it where I now have the Cuda, using the existing transducer, and mount the Cuda right at the front of the boat and put the new transducer on the trolling motor for the Cuda to use? Or what would you guys suggest?

Eagle 320 - best sonar for the money thumb

Mount the 320 close to where you will be sitting while using your outboard (transducer on the back). Close enough so that you can get a good look at the screen to see the differences in the grayline.

Pull that Cuda transducer off the back and place it on your trolling motor. Use that Cuda only when youre on your trolling motor.

With the two units so close together, you may get some interference with both of them on at the same time. If you do, just turn the one youre not using off.

P.S.
I like the ram mounts. You can swivel your units as needed to help with the glare from the sun and it gives you a little space off the deck for when water splashes into the boat.

Back when I had a 14 alum. I liked using the better of my two sonars (320) to find the fish since it had better detail. Once I found what I was looking for, I used the other to stay on top of it.
