Anyone hit Conroe recently? Any reports for bass, crappie, or hybrids?

My last time out was before the cold fronts came through and I'm wondering what they did to the fish. Gonna try to get out there once or twice over the holidays.

Went last weekend and did very well - fish were very active.

Caught one that went 5 and one that went 4.6 skipping a wacky worm under the docks in Little Lake and pretty much anything in the shallow grass.

Saw multiple bass busting bait at the surface so it looks like the shad chase is on. Most of the bass we caught were stuffed to the brim!

hey i know that jetski in that picture..caught a 6 off that dock this past spring on a bed...

I want to get out there soon... I bet the jet flies are getting less of a nuisance with the cold weather setting in recently!

I will be there next week, I found out we are not working. And the best part is the wife is leaving Wednesday and will be gone for over a week.

fished this past sunday and had a pretty slow day..had one spot that held fish for almost 2 hours of catching them every 5 or 6 casts and then nothing rest of the day...caught on cranks and traps...tough out there for me...

I will be heading to Conroe next week... I will post a report of what I find....

Went today, 12/22

Caught 13, only one over 16, lots of dinks before the wind blew me off the water. Caught most on wackys in the grass and jerkbaits aver grass in 4-6 ft

Lots of bass busting shad shallow

went yesterday, 12/23 not sure about total..would say 20-30.LOT of 15" fish with 2 maybe that go over 16" caught from 1 foot out to 14 on c-rig, spinnerbait, trap and wacky. all in caney

I will be headed to Conroe thursday (12/27/2007) for the first time, where abouts in the lake can I find the grass?

Fished 12/24 and 12/25 for about an hour and a half each day. It was tough fishing... we only managed 3 or 4 fish small ones. They were caught on soft plastics in june bug, and chrome/black and chrome blue cranks.

Timm - check the coves in Little Lake Creek around the big and little island, you shouldn't be able to miss it. I know there is some up in Caney as well, but I haven't been up there since this summer.

fished again yesterday same area's as sunday plus one up north..fish were still in caney where they have been for 2 weeks now and the place up north held some fish after some hunting..they were shallow in the flooded grass trying to break a spinnerbait in half..(shad everywhere)...had about 15-16 pounds in last 2 hours of daylight..did lose a 5 on a trap in 2 foot of water over grass...caney fish all on wacky worm...
