Went down to the cabin on 12-23. arrived around noonish and set everything up for the day. the 2 folks i took with me started fishing both on bottom and top. one person has been with me numerous times through out the years so he didnt ask anything just started doing what he has from the trips before. he decided to start on bottom using dead bait.
the other person has never been before and was kinda skeptical about the area, especially after the hour boat ride from bird island.
the weather was beautiful friday afternoon. lots of ducks and a WHOLE LOTTA FISH.
Well i got finished setting up the generator and unpacking food while drinking and few soda's (called bud ), when my buddie was calling me,
(not the one i popped the top off of), he had a nice 29 inch black drum on
the line. after a few minutes of reelin and talkin he landed it. the other person came to life and wanted to start bottom fishin. (no hits on the top of the water on the rig that was being used). so i rigged up another pole for bottom fishing, and it was on, nonstop action from a round 2p until about 1 hour before sunset then it just stopped. (caught just a couple, not really just a teaser pic)

after about 1 hour after sundown, with the greenlight on, the action got hot and heavy. you could use anything you wanted and they were just tearing it up, they didnt seem to be picky on this night. we were limited out with the first limit of trout by midnight. caught the second limit of trout along with quite a few reds reds and black drum by noon the next day , there a whole lota keeper fish we threw back due to no more room in the icechests.
WHAT A CHRISTMAS PRESENT, IT DONT GET NO BETTER THAN THAT.

here is a pic of some that me and my buddy kept when we returned back to the house.
