I put a Keel Guard on mine too and haven't had any problems. Ordered direct from their website and followed the directions exactly. The adhesive is a 3M that comes with a primer. Measure the width and make a few light reference marks, rough the surface with Scotchbrite, then apply from bow to stern. The adhesive part is impregnated on the backside or boatside of the guard. There are three adhesive backings; center, left and right. As I worked my way down I pulled the center backing and applied the guard using the plastic tool they supply making sure the guard is centered on the keel. Then I went back to the bow and pulled the left and right backings and worked my way back making sure that all of the air or voids were squeezed out. 60 mph runs or beaching on the bank...no problems.

I had a Keel-Shield on a Procraft I installed. Not hard and didn't take that long. About a year went by and I noticed that it had a small spot that delaminated, about 2-3". Did not come off of boat. The adhesive and rubber seperated. Called the company and told them what was going on and they sent me another one. Got it next day air. One bit of advice. Keep the little plastic tool you install with cause if something does go wrong, very seldom does but it does happen with all brands, that tool can help take the old one off without damging the gelcoat. It is some badarse adhesive but with that tool you can "roll" the adhesive off instead of scraping any other way. Would I have a fiberglass boat without one? Nope! Some people wait till they gouge their hulls, knock chunks out sometimes before they install one. That is the only thing I don't like about them. They can hide damage when considering used boats. I am sure NTF has seen this many times and would probably be able to tell if there was without peeling the thing off. I don't worry about it now. Went aluminum, . Sure miss the ChamP though .

The first thing I added to my boat was a Hamby's installed by a boat shop. I beach the boat on the ramp so my partner can board without getting his feet wet. No damage or scratches. Best investment you can make next to a good life jacket.

Hamby's installed by Rockwall Marine. Wife loves it, she doesn't worry about the keel on the concrete ramp now. Jim

We still have a few Hambys priced at $375.00 installed. Call and let Edlon know if you are interested. By the way, we don't install them on aluminum boats.

Just FYI...Academy has Keel Guards on clearance for $99...including a DVD that shows you exactly how to do it, scotchpad, adhesive and tool to put it on. I got mine from Academy on Hwy 75
