What line have ya'll found that works best on a spinning reel? Also, I read online that when spooling, you want it to come off the spool sideways in the same direction that its going on the reel. However, this last time I put it on, I did that...and it was WAY twisted...made a total mess when I got on the water! This was 12lb Stren Magnathin. What works for ya'll?

I really like P-Line Floroclear, but if line twist is the problem the line won't matter. Couple of ways to fix it:

If you have a boat, let the line trail behind the boat as you are running. Don't tie anything to it, just let it trail. After a few minutes reel it back in and the twist will have been eliminated.

No boat? After you spool it on, open the bail, grab the end of the line and start walking. When you reel it back on, keep it tight by pulling it through your fingers. It will untwist as you reel it back on.

When you spool a spinning reel lay the spool flat on the ground.

Holding the line beween your fingers in front of the last guide watch the line as you reel it on. When it starts to twist flip the spool over. You may have to flip the spool over several times to keep it from becoming twisted.

As Rebbasser says.. you can drag the line behind the boat weight free to get twist out as well.

Bazz cheers

P-Line CX premium works best for me. i like that its a fluorescent blue so i can see the line above water but it's fluoro coated so the fish cant and that also slickens the line for castability. never had any memory or strength problems in almost 10 years. the CXX, now that's one i wouldnt recommend for spinning gear.

(1) 20lb gorilla braid, tipped off with 15 foot of flor line tied direct together with a uniknot. However you still must close the bail by hand to prevent loose line and the dreaded line snarl.
(2)Seagar florocarbon, but must be streched before heading out and do not use over 8 lb test line.
(3)Bp excel mono in 6 or 8 lb test

Well that's a loaded question with not much direction. WHAT DO YOU FISH FOR? If you fish for crappie then you need light line 4-8, if you fish for catfish then you need heavier line maybe even braid. Bass- maybe braid or mono. Also it depends on the size of reel you have. The ultralight won't handle 12lb. Post some more info instead of "What is your favorite toilet paper?"
(Also, that way we won't have to give a Scientific Essay about the Political and Social consequences of using Power Pro Braid verses P-Line and their weight strength stretch ratio.)
