Have cleaned a couple of reels .Just wondering if you need grease on the gears or can you just use oil?

Light grease, not the heavy kind. Oil wont last. They make a reel grease.

Get some Ardent Reel Butter at BPS or one of the other stores. For some reason dirt and grit don't stick to it as bad. Also you are supporting a US company who makes their products in the US.

Thanks, I figured you needed to. I did not think the oil would be good enough by it self. They sure felt smooth with just oil. Using Hot Sause oil and grease.
