These were the legal fish, one was 5Ibs the other 4.5Ibs. Not to shabby for LL. Sun just going down and beginning to get cold.

Lewisville is an excellent hybid fishery. Learn the lake and nice hybrids are fairly consistant there-good fish though!

This is my first year fishing on Lake lewisville, actually I only started fishing in Texas last year, have done quite a bit of Salmon fishing in Northern Canada, but none here. So I am learning the lake and get good advice sometimes of TFF. I have found quite a few good spots for Hybrid but I will be always looking for good advice.

nice hybrids

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

slabs! learn to use them--winter time less movement is more(more better that is) find structure and find fish. Buy a texas lakes and bays map--that will get you started. If you see fish schooling dont focus on the fish on top--get a lure that will get under them--that is where the macho fish are. Unless you enjoy tapping on your clicker all day catching a bunch of dinks I would focus on hybrids.

step 1
get boat
step 2 get binoculars
step 3 good graph
step 4 get rod or 2 or 4 or more
step 4 tie on pearl 4" storm swimbait

now look across lake while in boat with binoculars and see birds. Now hammer down and stop motor upwind and throw a new rod with 4 inch swimbait and reel steady........bang.........that was your line breaking as forgot step 5 which is loosen the drag........now cast again .....did you bring a net?...........now look on locator for fish as birds have left......drop swimbait to depth of fish looking up at the boat and stick 30 more...........sounds like fun......it is.....

get the net.........think we covered that earlier

I see I repeated step 4 and that is because it is hard to concentrate when you have hybrids boiling all around the boat ......

jason,

I didnt say drive big motor into school.......Im talking about running across the lake. So dont include me with the idiots who run into a school or troll thru the heard of fish and wonder why they quit biting. That is what the trolling motor if for..........to ease up into casting range of fish....

Big motor into schooling fish= end of bite

my mistake--your description sounded like that is what you recommended--although it is frustrating--it is funny watching the guys follow the schools around everywhere and wonder why the fish dont stay in one place.
