To those whom have not been there it's not too wide & full of vegetation. 2 Jet skis kept passing me at full clip. I should have smacked them with my paddle but I decided to be nice & just throw weights at them. They finally decided to move on. As I was leaving between the golf course & the trees (not very wide either) was the 2 jet skis & a boat. They were all in the water hooking a tow line to 1 of the jet skis. I hope he sucked some vegetation in his jet drive but he was probably out of gas. So what did I do but buzz them just as they did me. I know it was wrong but it SURE FELT GOOD! I saw them up there sat, it was a old man a young kid. boy did they screw up some good water I was fishing.

It was not right but I know how you feel. You are responsible for your wake, be your luck they would take your numbers down and here would come TPW with a ticket. I stopped and explained to a group of jet skiers one time and suprisingly they had no idea of the havoc they created. Course I have had the same problem with bass boats as well, come thru the area where you are fishing with the front of the boat stuck up about 4 foot and pushing a wake that looked like a tsunami. " A nod is as good as a wink to a blind horse!"
"If this ain't a mess, it will do till one gets here."

This is one of those subjects that just gets me all mad. I've got all kinds of stories about being on all sides of the arguement (fishing, skiing, jet skiing). I've done my fair share of stupid stuff in all 3 situations. I've also been "inconvenienced" by others in all 3 situations.
I've been nearly run over by other boats and jet skis, had my lines fouled, and just generally disturbed while fishing. I've been skiing in an area only to have a fisherman pull up and decide to fish the same spot...and cast and scream at us when we didn't leave immediately (never mind that the lake was nearly deserted and we had been there for 2 hours before he arrived). I've nearly been hit by a bunch of bass boats screaming out of a marina at the start of a tournament. I've nearly been hit by a jet ski following too closely while I was wakeboarding...seems he likes to jump the big wake as much as I do.
I think we need to have a mandatory training class or licensing process to operate a boat or jet ski. You have to have one for a motorcycle, why not a boat? It should include some "common courtesy" training with input from all types of boaters--including sail and paddle power. I can't think of any way to create laws that would be fair to all boaters and be easily enforced.

...You have to have one for a motorcycle... What makes you think that? EDIT: I just reread that. I missed "licensing process" so ignore the above comment.
