the tro4 doesn't have adjustable vent holes. just put it on, torque the nut to 55 ft. lbs and let it rip'.

good lookin' prop aint it?

i replied back to ya.

this txp was on a 300xs on a bullet, went 94mph. I sent him one of my racing props that ran 98+

with your 250xs and 1.75 gears it should be about right. Yes, you can come down and run it anytime you want. i do prefer to try before you buy.

steve.

p.s. i just checked my PM's . i didn't get one from ya.

yep, got it just a few minutes ago. Stinkin' DHL just set outside the door. Never bothered to tell me it was here. I was busy welding a prop.

Gonna get it modified for a 19 spline hub and put it on Ken Addingtons Bullet. Trying for 105mph. we'll see.

Steve,

What's your recommendation for 'packing' a prop for shipment, or is that covered somewhere on your website?

Styrofoam, old blanket, bubblewrap, newspaper???

I'm sure you've had a few arrive packed / wrapped in some unusual ways!

lol

yes, i have.

start with a good box. wrap the prop with paper or bubble wrap. set in box. Then pack all the paper you can around the prop. close it up, tape it up and ship it.

NEVER use packing peanuts. they will not protect a propeller.

It's best to use a factory propeller box if possible.

the best way, which is also the most expensive.
is to place a board with a piece of all thread in the bottom of box and place prop over allthread, and lock prop down on board. then place another board or card board on top of prop and close it up. (this is most commonly done on very expensive props)

Steve, I have a 1993 Champion 190 with no jackplate and a 1993 Mariner 200 HP EFI, what is the best prop for top end on the described boat. I know champions weren't built for speed but I would like to get as much as I can when needed and also what is the benefit of a jack plate and is hydraulic worth the money over a manual jack plate, if a jackplate is a the way to go how large of one would I need.

P.S. Your website is truly a benefit to any boat owner, alot of companies large or small could benefit from its design

Thanks Michael. I do put alot in my website. I keep my web guy busy.

On your boat, yes an 8" rapid jack plate, NOT hydraulic and a 25p Tempest would be killer.
difference in plates would be if your a serious tournament fisherman and may navigate VERY rough water,or trying to get into VERY shallow water. if so, then go to a hydraulic.

Jack plates don't always make a boat go faster, but they do allow for better holeshots, and better handling. once a prop is "tuned" for a plate then the mph will increase also.

steve.

"As you see in the diagram, the rotation of the prop pulls the boat to the right, the key with steering is to counter the rotation with small steering wheel twitches to the left before the chine walking starts. All of these things together are kind of like riding a wheelie on a bike."

Hehehe...that explains why I can drive my boat and no one else even wants to try. I've ridden wheelies on everything from bicycles to dirt bikes to large street bikes to atv's to skid steer loaders. I was riding wheelies for a mile or more on I635 20+ years ago before anyone else even thought about it on my GPZ 1100 and ZX 11. That makes perfect sense.....

Man, did I just type that?

Artie
