Raidergrad got me to using suffix and I will say it is 10x better than power pro. I had all but given up on braid. I did recently purchase some spiderwire because it was the only 100lb test I could find but I haven't used it as of yet. You can't go wrong with the suffix though.

This is an interesting post. This place was Power Pro slanted for a long time and it seems like Suffix is making a respectable showing. I will have to try it because I hate Power Pro.

I use either McCoys or Tuf Line...actually prefer Tuf Line over anything I have ever used but McCoys is close.

Thanks guys, I will give Suffix a try.

Been using Fireline for three years and I use braid on 95% of my rigs, no wind knots and it is next to impossible to break.JMHO

I started throwing braid in 1994 and I started with a product called PowerCable. A few years back, they stopped ordering it from overseas, and I was forced to find something new.

Soon after, I tried several spectra lines. There were many things I did not like about them, including the sound off the eyes on the rod, and the cylindrical shape of them.

I researched what was "special" about Powercable and found it was made differently. It was made with Dyneema and it was called 'gel spun polyethelene'. So I found another product that was labeled just like this on the box. It was Spiderwire Stealth. Today's boxes no longer say that on it, but it is the same line.

I used the new Berkley braid the other day, and although I did not read about the product, I guarantee it is the same stuff. It is shaped the same, feels the same, and generally has the same features as the two above.

With these lines, and spectra may be different, what I have found is that any line under 50lb test, when pulled into itself, will weaken or cut the line. So I never use anything under 50lb test when I tournament fish. I throw almost all my reaction based baits on braid. Down south, I will flip bushes with 65lb braid. I have never broke any braid while fighting a fish, after I applied the 50 lb rule.

Anybody use the tiny size braids for ultra light rigs? Like spider's 6lb 1Lb size.

I use power pro in 65 a lot in big brush and no problems. Not sure why guys are busting it off all the time and complaining. There are spots you can throw in that your not going to get a 5-6 pound black out unless your on steel cable!!!

Sunline all the way... makes life real easy only choosing 1 size to purchase! It flat works.
