Kirby House BBQ outside of Kirby, AR. Tried it once, was awful, then it shut down between that summer and the following spring.

Ranch Hand in Terrell, Parents passed it to the kids, and it started to go down hill some. Then the kids sold it to some others and it really bites now. Even if the BBQ was so so, they have had 100's of celebrity pictures and such to look at, and now thats been removed.
Eddie Dean catering is by far the Best in Terrell. We have a new place that opened up. Red River BBQ down on east 80, they have the OU and UT logo up. Haven't tried it yet, have went and stopped twice and they weren't open at those times.

Yeah , I've been wanting to try Red River BBQ, but I'm kind of afraid to try new restaurants, especially in Terrell. Eddie Deen used to own Ranch Hand. The way I hear it is that he sold it last summer. I agree with you that Eddie Deen cooks some really good Q. You ever tried any of Daves ribs?, he has the gas station just south of the tracks on 34. They're great if they're fresh, but he'll keep putting 'em out till they sell, no matter how long it takes.

Sonny Bryant's is terrible! When Sonny was alive, and they had ONLY one location, it was good. As soon as he died, they took his name, expanded and everything went to hell!
Spring Creek in Dallas was good when they had ONE location too! The last time I was in Spring Creek, the sausage was worse than a can of Vienna sausages!
Back Country in Dallas is good and Dickey's will do in a pinch!

Dickey's......geez....are we supposed to take your recommendations seriously after this one?

Bubba's BBQ near Ennis. I was pumped for it after seeing all the billboards on the way back from Houston (I-45). Their relish and sauce bar had Pico De Gallo on it? They had a sign on their menu that said "No sharing". I guess they are going to tell my six year old daughter that and it is going to be hard to in force if you are in a drive through! Food was suspect also.

The ALL TIME WORST EXCUSE for barbecue was a joint on the Drag in Austin, so bad i can't even remember the name of it, but it was the worst brisket on earth!!! Dry beyond comprehension, and totally tasteless! Some kind of sauce that no beef eating barbecue lovin' person would ever dream of putting on bbq,
I wish i could remember the name! Was driving through Austin on either memorial or labor day, and all the good places were closed(it was late) and basically this was the only place that was open.
BAD, REALLY,REALLY REALLY BAD!!!

I'll say something nice to make up for my potty mouth. Best BBQ Joints in order: Kreuz Market in Lockhart Bodacious (any and all of the 8 or more locations in Northeast Texas) Salt Lick in Driftwood Country Tavern (Kilgore) ribs only All time worst: Fushak's in San Marcos, hands down the worst stuff I've ever had and I have probably had BBQ in 250 different joints scattered across the state.

Well I have always been pretty particular about my BBQ but today I tried a new unknown spot for lunch. I am working a 2 week temp subsitution job and needed a bbq fix. Ordered a chopped beef sandwich and knew I was in trouble when the counter gal dips into a crockpot and dumps this trash of a meat on a bun. BLEEEECH!!!
Probably the saddest thing you will ever see is a mosquito sucking on a mummy, Forget it little friend!! :-(
