Does anyone use their flippin switch? I've had a Quantum with a switch for a long while but haven't used the switch enough to get used to it. I wouldn't purchase another reel with a switch unless the price was right.

I prefer to use my thumb. All the switches are just gimmicks that get in the way.

I have 2 of these and is what I use for flippin. The switch works great for me, just don't forget to flip the switch back when you start throwing something else LOL.

Have a left hand Quantum with a Flipping Switch on my Flipping Rod. Never turn the flipping switch off on this rig, as all I do is flip/pitch with it. I like the setup for what I do with it. All other reels are right handed and none have flipping switch. Like anything, it is what you get used to.

Never have used a flipping switch but back in the ABU days we didn't have flipping switches I like the Diawa reels for flipping now. The Fuego or Zillion would be great choices.

Why spend a great deal of money for a reel for flippin? You have < 10 yards of line out....I use the cheapest reels I have for flippin and they work just fine.

You have < 10 yards of line out.... I agree...use any reel you want. The reel is virtually irrelevant when flippin'.

Flipping/pitching is about the only thing I do with my right hand. I do most of my casting with my left. If I get bit with the rod still in my right hand, I just thumb the spool and stick 'em. Works every time.....
