I have a 1985 skeeter with a 2 stroke, 90 hp evinrude on it. It was rebuilt this past summer. Anyways I got it and its my first boat well the first few times it preformed beautifully and now I take it out and when I go to top it out it will cut out or stumble and than often times die. I thought I may have fouled a spark plug so I replaced them. I dont know what else it could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you let it sit for any length of time? If so the carbs might need an overhaul.

does that only happen when you hammer down from a standing start?
can you get it to run full throttle at all?
what did the old plugs look like when you removed 'em?
is the fuel line holding pressure?
how old is the gasoline?

check for water and/or debris in the fuel tank.
check your fuel filter.
find the timer base, under the starboard edge of the flywheel - make sure it moves forward smoothly without sticking when the throttle is advanced.

Check the kill switch,had a problem on my 85 skeeter.Had to hold the switch at times.

Its whenever I put it at full throttle. The old spark plugs had oil on them. I have a line filter on it and it looks dirty so im going to try that. it hasnt set for more than two weeks. thanks for all the help again.
