This seems to come up around this time every year so I will repeat the info.

Basically any jig fished about 2'-4' (depends on water depth)under any bobber will work. Some better than others.

This is my favorite at the moment. It consists of a bobber stop on the line, a sliding bobber and a single 1/8 oz jig.

When creek fishing I prefer to shoot the jig rather than cast it. More accurate and will keep you out of more trees overhead.

Hello, my name is Ernest and I'm a bobber addict. (see below)

And these are just the ones that I don't use right now. However I would be quite comfortable to use any of them.

Creek fishing is a specialty in it's self and you will need to learn the subtle things to do to be successful.

On Tuesday, Dec 18, I will be at Marshalls Bar-B-Q, NW corner of Josey Ln & Rosemeade, in Carrollton, 6:00 PM to eat. and then will go to the Crappie Club meeting to demonstrate some basic techniques of jig making and creek fishing with Jig/Bobbers.

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Do you use a bobber or a tight line when fishing enclosed, commercial docks?

thanks, i love creek fishing in the winter for crappie but my problem is that whenever i use a bobber i can rarely notice the strike. i use crappie nibbles to tip my jigs so i can tell when i've gotten a bite. when i'm not using a bobber the bite of a crappie is so subtle that i have to watch my line

will you be selling any dvds at the 12/18 seminar.

Would love to make that seminar, but the 4 hours on 35 would be a bit much...

Does anybody on here fish creeks in the Winter around central Texas - Granger, Somerville, etc..?

I was wondering in the winter with the bobber do you fish it the same as in the spring? Are the fish in 2' of water?
