That's just what the question is. I'm thinking about picking up a UL combo for myself for x-mas or my birthday(2 days later) and there seem to be a lot of choices on the BPS site. Which would you get and what line would you put on it?

Thanks,
Matt

They did have a good combo on sale from $79.95 down to $39.95 a few day ago. One piece rod/10 brg./5.3reel called a Viper. I got one to try it out. Seems good for the price. I would uuse PowerPro 20 braided.

Falcon UL with a BP Micro Lite..

Tho' on my UL I have a Sahara 1500.

I use mine primarily as a sand bass setup but ever now and then we set them up for cats and carp! Wooo now those fights are fun!

I have a couple of Wally Marshall rod and reels that have been a blast for me this year. I gotta 7' and a 9'. It's the next best thing to a fly rod and you don't have to do all that back slinging. I like putting on a minature Bomber A, they just can't resist those bugs.

Ya, I was glancing at the Cabelas site and saw this.

I was looking at the little 7'6" rod. What do you guys think?

I have a Pfluger President ultralight setup that I've been really happy with. It held up to some pretty stout fish over the last couple of years. Not too expensive.

My most commonly used light set up is a 6'5" Berkley Lightning Rod, and a Shimano Stradic loaded with six pound test.

I've caught just about every common species in Texas on it, from Largemouth to Hybrids to Common Carp and Buffalo over 20lbs.

So yeah, I'd definitely recommend it hehe.
