Hi folks, I haven't posted here in awhile because I moved to Oklahoma. My dad lost his wife to cancer and he asked me to come up here and live with him, so I did. Anyway, I've been doing lots of fishing, and I finally caught my first Yellow cat down in the Blue River. It weighed about four and a half pounds and measured 22 inches. I caught him on a nightcrawler. I'm still real happy about it, it's my personal best fish that wasn't caught out of a pond.

Thanks everyone!!! Actually, a few weeks ago I was fishing down below the Texoma dam, and I put a live perch on the hook. Something grabbed it and bent my pole over, but I missed the fish When I reeling the perch in, most of his scales were ripped off, so it must've been a big one!! Maybe next time I'll set the hook better!!

The one below Texoma (Denison Dam) was VERY likely a striper. The striper back there absolutely LOVE live perch and will hit hard.
No fish is too good for the grease.

You really think so?
Dang, I've been catchin' a few striper down there while trying to catch cats, guess I need to find a better spot. don't really care to catch stripers. When I throw out my cast-net down there, I usually get a few small stripers, it's annoying, and of course I throw them back. One night I got lucky catching some shad, but I rarely get any perch in my cast-net down there.
I think I'm gonna start using more stinkbait, and start fishing with it using a bobber. There's lots more fish down in that Blue River, and I'm gonna learn how to get 'em.

Thanks Chuck!! Yeah, Dad and I are having a great time up here and getting along just fine. I do miss my friends in Austin a little, but I was born and raised there and it's nice to get out. The best thing is, we've got some money so I no longer have to bust my butt working 9-5, 5 days a week!! :cheers :
