VHS when you see the surf that flat FISHING SUCKS . No current = no fish . I fished for 4 hours Friday and said hell with it . NOW if I was a young single man and had a girl with me I WOULD NOT FISH . You fish with her after you married her ( me and my wife married for 37 yrs now )

really i don't do alot of surf fishing, i used to fish POC but thats a little to far of a drive from huntsville.

that was really the last thing on my mind...my 9am that i had to make in time, was on my mind...

i alwayed herd that you have to fish all that you can befor you get hitched? haha oh well

Thursday Nov 1 . Fishing was slow at Galveston Fishing Pier only one tide . Water was green but very few fish . I managed to catch one keeper red and one keeper flounder and a keeper drum . My wife had 2 keeper drums . Everthing else was small whitings and croaker . Did not see a whole lot caught . The pier will only be open for 24 hours on Friday and Saturday rest of the month . It will close at Midnight Sunday throu Thursday . Dec 1st the winter hours start . Dawn to dusk only . Gonna have my eyes operated on on Tuesday do not think I will go fishing till after Dec 15th . So may not get to be online much .

does any1 know if the reds are still running in galveston? I was thinking about going there this weekend to give it a try and leave my gun and bow down this weekend from hunting and go fishing! =)

I haven't seen any red being caught at Seawolf Park, but I have heard there still some being caught at the pier.
Flounders had been really slow last weekend due to no tide.
However this weekend should be good for flounders. Cold front is coming in and that should trigger a biting frenzies.

Wed Nov 7th Talked to Ray at Galveston Fishing Pier and He said they were still catching 2 -3 bulls a day but the big run was over . Also a few whiting but not much else

how much does it cost to fish on the pier??

Sat 11th I called the Galveston Fishing pier and fishing is hot again . Bull reds , keeper reds , drums , whiting , flounder and specks . Figures I could not go still recooperating from eye surgury.

Talked to Galveston Fishing Pier weds 15th fishing slow some bull reds and whiting and sandtrout . Windy 10-15 ssw and water dirty . Does not look good for Thursday with winds up to 30 knots out of the north . May go Friday .

Well had my eye surgury it was succesful but now I fell and broke 2 ribs so no fishing for me for a few months . The beachfront is cold and windy I saw no one on the pier but I ' m sure some superperson will try it .

Talked to the Pier Wed 28 th and they were killing the keeper drum . Lots of the 14-26in. drum . Water was dirty from the north wind but sky was beautiful . If ribs are better I might try to make it Friday .

seems to me the last time I was down at the 61st pier was on a Wednesday (which I think is special day) and it cost me and my brother $1 each. Dont know if its because we were seniors or what but I sure will be making it on Wednesdays in the future!!!

Friday Nov 30th . Even with 2 cracked ribs I had to go fishing . I hurt like hell but had a great time . My wife and I caught 1 keeper red , 7 keeper drums , 1 keeper flounder , 3 pompino , a few nice whitings . Also a bunch of throw back drums and whiting . It was windy and cool . We also saw a few other drums caught . Used dead shrimp on bottom .
