Get up in the creeks and slow roll heavy spinner baits, if that doesnt work, work brush on the creek channels (10-12ft) flipping anything wat. red with a 1/2 -1 ounce pegged weight. Use at least 50lb braid and get ready to have the time of your life.

Go to the Zapada boat ramp and put in there. Fish the primary and secondary points of that cove with watermellon red baby brush hog and shad colored cranks. Caught tons of fish and only used used the trolling motor. Good luck

Ok bass I am making my fist trip to the lake and other than what I see here I have heard going shallow with blades (3-5 feet shallow) seems to shaloow to me but I will probably start that shallow and start working my way out.

I don't think the problem will be finding fish but finding the right fish that are going to help me for the Stren In Jan.

I will be PM Ing you my phone number incase you want to talk down there.

Go talk to the guys at http://www.tackleandrods.com/. They fish the lake every day and post a fishing report on their website. Hope that helps. I'm heading down there in two weeks but we stay near the state park. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Ditto on the advice to put on heavy braided line and hold on.

Probably the best thing you can do is talk to Speedy when you get to Beacon, he is a great fisherman and a good guy and he runs Beacon, he will tell you what is going on. Good luck and I wish I was going down there... stinking work gets in the way..LOL
