Ok I probably shouldn't have, but I took my citica apart to clean and lube. No parts lost, no pieces that I couldnt figure out where they went. However when I put it all back together it worked fine until i tightened up on the drag, and all of a sudden there was a ton of noise and jumping in the handle. By the process of elimination I figured it was the anti reverse pawl (bnt#2404), and from what I read about it, it is only a backup mechanism for the anti-reverse bearing, so I removed it to see if that was my problem, and it was. Everything moves great now, very smooth and quiet. Any ideas on what I did wrong? how am I not putting it in correctly? The anti reverse ratchet is supposed to sit just above the wedge on the pawl am i correct? when the drag is loose it seems to turn fine, just above the wedge, but when the drag is tightened the ratchet is banging into it.
Ive spent hours working on it and cant figure out what Im doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jason

Thanks, Jason The Anti-Reverse pawl has two "leaves" on it. The Anti-Reverse Ratchet must be sandwiched between those leaves to work correctly. Doc

Thanks Doc, that is what I was missing! I would have never thought to put it between those leaves. None of the guides or pictures i have show that, it is always covered by the drive gear.
I really appreciate the help, the reel is perfect now, and there is nothing like the satisfaction of being able to tear down, and rebuild your own gear!
thanks again! Jason
